an overview of the services that are available to SCS students.
- Career Resources
Center
SCS provides services geared toward the career changer,
those that would like to better prepare themselves for
applying and interviewing for a job and students that
seek to advance their careers, including online tools
and workshops.
- Academic Advising
The
SCS advising staff are available on both the Chicago and
Evanston campuses to assist students in planning their
academic program and choosing courses, provide information
about SCS, university academic policies and degree/certificate
requirements, and refer students to the appropriate campus
resources for tutoring, career planning, study skills development,
counseling, or other services which will promote academic
success.
- Tutoring and
the Writing Place
SCS Academic advisors can refer
students to independent tutors in certain subject areas.
The Writing Place, a free tutoring service available
to SCS students on both campuses, provides assistance
to students who need help writing papers. Math tutoring
through the NU Department of Math is also available.
- Students
with Disabilities
Northwestern University provides
a variety of services to assist students with disabilities
in becoming active members of the University community.
Services vary according to the type and level of impairment
experienced by each student. The majority of these services
are coordinated by the Office of Services for Students
with Disabilities (SSD).
