Is this graduate certificate program a professional "certification"?
The graduate certificate program does not represent a professional certification; however, students who have successfully completed the certificate program will have also completed a variety of professional development courses from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Emergency Management Institute. These courses represent a basic, standardized training program required by most emergency planning and response entities. In addition, students will receive course completion certificates that are recognized by employers as the minimum training required for placement in this industry. EMTA certificate courses will greatly enhance the student's mastery of these concepts and build on this basic foundation in all of the proposed courses.
