Make Up Exams/Assignments
Students who have missed an exam in a course may make up that exam outside of class time if approved by and arranged with the instructor. If available, the instructor will proctor the exam.
Students who have been given accommodations for the taking of exams by the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities must make arrangements through that office. See Services for Students with Disabilities for more information.
Otherwise, make-up exams that have been arranged with instructors are proctored through the SCS offices in either Chicago or Evanston. There are three exam appointment times available weekly.

Make-Up Exam Procedure
-
Instructors who have approved a make-up exam (and who are not able to proctor the exam themselves) will contact one of the Academic Coordinators in the SCS Undergraduate Program, copying the student on that email.
- The student taking the make-up exam should then email a Coordinator to reserve one of the three exam times.
- Once an exam time is reserved, the student will receive email confirmation of the exam day/time, as well as the name and contact information of the SCS staff member who will proctor the exam.
- From this point on, the student should contact the exam proctor if unable to make scheduled time.
- Upon arriving at the scheduled time and campus for the make-up exam, the student should ask for the exam proctor.
- The student must follow all directions given by instructor for the exam. All bags, purses, notebooks, texts, cell phones, etc. will be stored in a secure area outside of the testing room while the student is completing the exam, unless otherwise approved by instructor (e. g., open book tests).
- The student must contact the exam proctor if he/she is unable to take the make-up exam at the reserved time. If the student is late to take the exam, the time for exam will not be extended.
- After the exam is completed, SCS will deliver the completed exam materials to the instructor. The student should follow up with the instructor after the exam regarding the posting of the grade.
