This bridge course further develops the speaking, reading, and writing skills of students who want to continue beyond the Weinberg College language requirement. This course focuses on contemporary Spain, covering topics related to society, politics, economy, and education, using up-to-date, and authentic materials. Current topics will be the context for building vocabulary and reviewing grammatical points, as well as developing fluency and accuracy. Students will work and research outside the classroom so that class time can be devoted to conversation and discussion. Spanish 199 does not count toward the major or minor. Prerequisites: SPANISH 102-3, AP 4, or Spanish Placement Exam and Reassessment.
