Advanced Placement Summer Institute - FAQs

  1. Can I pay with a purchase order?

  2. APSI does not accept purchase orders. All payments must be made by check, money order or credit card. Checks and money orders must clearly state the name of the registrant. For further information, please go to the Tuition and Registration page.

  3. What is the APSI vendor number?

  4. The APSI vendor number varies by school district. For assistance identifying our vendor number, please contact your school administrator. Our Federal Tax Identification Number is 36-2167817.

  5. Is APSI offering an AP Statistics course this year?

  6. Even though the College Board has NU offering AP Statistics this summer on its website, we are not offering it for Summer Session 2009. We are in the process of getting the College Board updated information about our offerings.

  7. Is the APSI institute applicable for experienced teachers who already teach an AP course?

  8. There are three different types of AP courses offered: 1) Experienced AP teachers only, 2) New AP teachers only, or 3) General - for BOTH new and experienced teachers. It is imperative that NEW AP teachers do NOT go to experienced teacher sessions. Please consult the individual course description on the Schedules and Training Session Descriptions page for the years of teaching experience required to enroll in a given workshop.

  9. Is there a reduced rate (from the $600) if I don't eat my meals or stay at NU? I live about XX minutes away and can easily commute.

  10. The $600 is strictly a tuition fee and already reflects a discount from the regular Northwestern University Summer Session tuition. Due to the current economic situation, tuition has not increased from summer 2008. However, because tuition does not include fees for housing or meals, we cannot grant additional discounts based on commuter status.

  11. Does APSI offer any professional discounts at all?

  12. The tuition already reflects a discount for professional educators.
