Admission Information & Requirements
Admission
Students interested in the Leadership and Organization Behavior (LOB) program should apply for admission using the online application. In addition to meeting the general admission requirements, the school recommends that LOB applicants have completed:
- One to two years of college coursework (30-60 semester hours or 45-90 quarter hours)
- 5-7 years of professional experience (a resume is required for application)
- One English composition course
- One public speaking course
Cohort Program
While applications are accepted year-round, only students admitted for the fall or winter quarters may join that academic year's cohort. Depending on individual needs, students admitted to the LOB program in the spring or summer quarters may enroll in non-LOB courses in the interim period before the following fall quarter, when a new cohort is formed. In that way, students may make progress towards their degree during their first quarters of admission but before the next cohort forms. All course decisions should be made in collaboration with an academic adviser.
Students who are accepted into the LOB program with 60 semester hours of completed transferable course work can expect to complete their degree in two-and-a-half years. Students who have fewer than 60 semester hours of transferable course work are required to complete undergraduate-level coursework in addition to the two-and-a-half-year cohort program. LOB classes are open to non-cohort students to bring an outside perspective to each course, while increasing the possibilities for collaborative learning and group projects. Students who have not exceeded the transfer credit limit (60 semester hours) may speed their degree progress by taking College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests, which allow them to earn college credit.
Transfer Credit Policy for the Major
Students who have taken comparable courses before enrolling in the SCS Leadership and Organization Behavior Program may transfer up to four courses within the program. Exceptions may be made for additional courses and will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Admitted students will receive a credit evaluation in their admission packet. This credit evaluation will outline what, if any, courses were transferred within the major and what courses were transferred in to fulfill general degree requirements.
