Transfer Credit Policy for the Major
Students who have taken comparable courses before enrolling in the SCS Leadership and Organization Behavior Program may transfer up to four courses within the program. Exceptions may be made for additional courses, to be decided on a case-by-case basis. Admitted students will receive a credit evaluation in their admission packet. This credit evaluation will outline what, if any, courses were transferred within the major and what courses were transferred in to fulfill general degree requirements.
Educational Technology
The LOB program will utilize Northwestern University’s
Course Management System (CMS), a web-based forum available
for all classes taught at Northwestern. CMS (based on Blackboard
7.0) allows for all manner of electronic interactions between
faculty and students: class announcements, syllabi, assignment
dropboxes, and email communication. Primarily, CMS will
be used for the sharing of course documents and information.
For real-time communication via on-demand web meetings and
audio conferencing, students will utilize WebEx. Students
will need high-speed Internet access (DSL or broadband)
and a telephone, along with an assigned password, which
is provided after registration. In these meetings, faculty
and students can discuss projects, share Power Point presentations
and other documents, and work collaboratively. For a tour
of WebEx, please see http://www.webex.com/quicktour/overview/overview.htm
Students will not need to purchase any software. Both
CMS and WebEx are accessible from a variety of platforms,
including
Windows, Mac, and Linux. Mimimum requirements can be found
