Transcripts
An official transcript bears the University seal and a signature
certifying its authenticity. The release of official transcripts
requires a written signature.
Official transcripts cost $5 per copy. Normal processing
time is approximately five business days. From November through
February, please allow a minimum of 10 business days for processing,
in addition to mailing time. Transcript requests cannot be
emailed and transcripts cannot be faxed.
Checks and money orders should be made payable to Northwestern
University. No transcripts are issued for students who are
delinquent in the payment of tuition or fees.
Students' rights of access to educational records
are described in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy
Act (FERPA), which is available on the Web page of the Northwestern
Registrar's Office (www.registrar.northwestern.edu/ferpa)
or in either SCS office.
By federal law transcripts can be issued to students or to a third party,
only upon written authorization. To request an official copy of transcripts,
students complete the form available in the SCS offices or download
the form here (PDF Format), or send a request in writing to SCS. Transcripts
cost $5 for each copy with an additional $7 fee for Rush requests, payable
by credit card, check or money order to Northwestern University.

SCS graduate students whose degrees are conferred by the Graduate School (TGS) or McCormick School of Engineering should order transcripts from the University Registrar Office http://www.registrar.northwestern.edu/transcripts/.
