Psychology

12 courses (BPhil or BSGS)

Gain a greater understanding of yourself and others as developing individuals, biological organisms and participants in society. A bachelor's degree in psychology can lead in a variety of directions. While graduate study in psychology can prepare students for a career as a clinical psychologist, the subject also is a useful major for students planning careers in medicine, law or management, as the program is strong in cognitive science, psychobiology, psychopathology and social psychology. All students will find that the major provides knowledge about human behavior and methods of research that are valuable in a range of professions.

Curriculum:

  • PSYCH 110 Introduction to Psychology
  • PSYCH 201 Statistical Methods in Psychology
  • PSYCH 205 Research Methods in Psychology
  • 7 200- or 300-level psychology courses, including at least 5 at the 300 level
  • 2 related courses chosen from the following
    • 200-level mathematics
    • 300-level statistic
